Service staff with equipment access
Installed base and equipment history
Identify the exact asset and understand its service context.
What to do
- Open Installed Base and search by the available serial or model information. Confirm the customer and site as well as the serial number.
- Open the asset and review model, manufacturer, current assignment and any recorded source information. Copy identifiers with the provided copy action to preserve leading zeros.
- Use the asset sections to review service orders, reports, assignment history and corrections. Follow protected report links only when your role permits access.
- When correcting serial number or model, enter the reason and confirm the saved result. Earlier values remain part of the recorded history.
- To start new service for this asset, use the available case-creation entry. Confirm customer, site and equipment during the work-order step; do not assume the hint grants permission.
Before you continue
The same serial number can appear in different contexts. Zenithron does not automatically merge assets by serial number.
Assignment history is the record of customer/site changes. Use Older assignments and Newer assignments to traverse earlier records.
Questions and troubleshooting
Is every report for an asset the same job?
No. An asset can have multiple cases, work orders and visits. Check all reference numbers before using a report for approval or billing.
What does Current mean in assignment history?
The assignment has no recorded end in that history. It does not prove warranty or contract coverage.
